How do I reset or recover my User Name or Password?

Simply click here to complete our online password help form. Your Password and User Name will be e-mailed to the most current e-mail address you have provided to us. If you would prefer, you can call a RBC Bank Client Representative at 1-877-521-2035 for assistance.

Can my points be pooled/combined?

One of the unique benefits of the Avion Rewards program is that cardholders may combine or "pool" the points earned from their personal credit card account(s) to earn points faster. Customers may also pool their points along with any other Avion Rewards customers' accounts. There is no limit to the number of cardholders that you can pool your account(s) with, so you can earn the rewards that you've always dreamed of faster.

This Rewards pool/householding functionality is available on all Avion Rewards cards and there is no limit to the number of accounts that can be pooled and no existing relationship constraints (same last name, street number, etc) required to pool accounts. All requests for Rewards pooling, even the cardholder combining their own credit card accounts, must be invited and choose to accept to join the pool. The invitations and acceptance can be completed on the program website.

Pooled members can only see their own detailed transaction history, but will see available pooled points in aggregate. (As with any joint account, combined points become property of all contributors).

Customers with a Signature product have access to some additional gift cards, merchandise items and other redemptions options that are not available for customers with a Platinum product. When customers redeem using a pooled balance, the redemption options available are based on the product completing the redemption. Customers redeeming from a pool using a Signature product may redeem from any of the Signature redemptions options available; including Cash-back credits at a face-value of 1.25% even if the points being redeemed from the pool were earned by a Platinum cardholder. Customers redeeming from a pool using a Platinum product may redeem from any of the Platinum redemptions options available; including Cash-back credits at a face-value of 1.00% even if the points being redeemed in the pool were earned by a Signature cardholder.

I have a question about my Avion Rewards account. How can I get help?

Please call a RBC Bank Client Representative at 1-877-521-2035 for all your questions on the Avion Rewards program.

Can I purchase additional points to reach a reward faster?

Yes. Avion Rewards customers may purchase additional points. Points are sold in 1,000 point increments at a cost of $35 per 1,000 points, or 3.5 cents per point. Each individual client is limited to purchasing 5,000 points in a month, and no more than 25,000 points in any calendar year. Each individual member of a pool has the ability to purchase 5,000 points on a monthly basis or a total of 25,000 in a calendar year (whichever comes first).

Points can be purchased by going here, or calling 1-877-521-2035. All points must be purchased using your RBC Bank Credit card. All purchased points will be posted and available immediately upon authorization of your RBC Bank Credit card transaction. Once purchased, the transaction is considered final and points cannot be refunded or exchanged. All program rules on the Avion Rewards program apply to points that are purchased.

Can I leave the pool that I am part of if I want to join another pool?

Yes, cardholders that choose to leave an Avion Rewards pool will simply request to be "unlinked" via the program website. Any Rewards pool member can leave the pool at any time and without notice. If you choose to voluntarily close your entire account, you will not receive a proactive reminder to redeem your points. Once your account is closed, all your points will be surrendered and deducted from the Rewards pool. If you are not closing an account, but unlinking from the pool, you will retain your individual remaining point balance. For example, if three individuals pool their personal accounts and one client decided to leave the pool, the account is unlinked and the individual's earned points are transferred to the individual's new Avion Rewards personal account.

What is a point transfer?

All point transfers must be completed online through the Avion Rewards program. Please go here to transfer points. You may transfer credit card points by selecting the Transfer Points tab and providing the required information to complete the transfer. You have two options for transferring points:

1. Transfer within the RBC Bank Avion Rewards Program:
You may transfer some or all of the points in your Avion Rewards account/pool to another Avion Rewards account at RBC Bank. The transfer may be to your own account or the account of another Avion Rewards member at RBC Bank. You must provide the full name and 16-digit card number of the recipient Avion Rewards account at RBC Bank to complete this redemption request. You must be registered on the site and will need to log in to your account on the site to view your earned points and conduct the transfer. Points cannot be transferred using the Rewards Customer Service Call Center. However, you may contact our agents for assistance in completing the point transfer online.

2. Transfer to your Avion Rewards Account with RBC Royal Bank of Canada:
You may transfer points in your U.S. Avion Rewards account/pool to your Canadian RBC Avion Rewards account at RBC Royal Bank of Canada. The transfer must be made only to your own RBC Avion Rewards account at RBC Royal Bank of Canada. You must provide the full name and 16-digit card number of the recipient RBC Avion Rewards account at RBC Royal Bank of Canada to complete this redemption request. You may transfer points in increments of 1,500 points up to 250,000 points per transaction, but there is no limit to the number of transfers you can make available to you so long as the points are available in your RBC Bank Avion Rewards account/pool.

Note: Points are converted at a 1 to 1 ratio from RBC Bank to RBC Royal Bank of Canada - meaning for every 1 U.S. Avion point transferred, you will receive 1 RBC Royal Bank of Canada Avion Rewards point.  Once points are transferred, points will be guided by the Terms and Conditions of the Canadian Avion Rewards Program at RBC Royal Bank of Canada.

You must be registered and will need to log into your account on the site to view your earned points, points balance and to conduct the transfer. Points cannot be transferred using the Rewards Customer Service Call Center. However, you may contact our agents for assistance in completing the point transfer online.

Do I have to pay a fee to participate in the Avion Rewards program?

The Avion Rewards program is free for basic Signature customers. However, Signature Plus customers will pay an annual fee of $75 for 50% increased point earning power and valuable redemption options. Customers with the Platinum Plus product will continue to pay $55 for the card, however, this product is no longer available for new customers.

How do I earn points?

Avion Rewards customers will automatically earn points for every dollar spent on RBC Bank Credit cards. You don't have to do anything differently to qualify for these points. There is no limit to the number of points that you are able to earn. In the Avion Rewards Program, Plus customers will earn 1.5 points for every net dollar (gross retail purchases less any returns or credits) you charge; and all other credit card Rewards customers will earn 1 point for each net dollar you charge. Cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, purchased points, unauthorized charges, lottery tickets, credits for returned merchandise, travelers checks from a non-financial institution, foreign currency, bail bonds, debit cancellation charges, finance charges, and fees of any kind such as late fees, over limit fees, or annual fees are excluded. Points earned for refused charges will be reversed.

Will my points expire?

Yes, all points have a maximum three (3) year term, and expire at the end of three (3) years, based on first in/first out (FIFO) principles. Base and bonus points will have the same three (3) year expiration term. Points expiring during the year will be cleared from your account on the last day of the month in which the points expire. For example, points earned on November 5, 2022 will expire on November 30, 2025.

All points earned prior to February 17, 2012 will also retain their original three (3) year expiration date.

Will my points print on my monthly statement?

Your monthly credit card statement will include the Avion Rewards Summary, which displays your credit card account points balance and your pooled points balance (if applicable) as of the date listed in the summary. You can view your points and other valuable information on the program website 24/7/365. Go here to view your information. Additionally, you can contact an RBC Bank Client Representative at 1-877-521-2035 between the hours of 8:00 am to 10:00 pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday; and 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern time, Saturday and Sunday.

How do I get a User Name and Password?

Simply go here to register. You will be able to select your own User Name and Password for the program.

Which transactions can I view on the Program Web site?

You can view your Account History, Reward Redemption History, and Point History in your account profile. Additionally, if you choose to pool your points with other Avion Rewards customers, you will be able to view the point totals for each member of the pool and a grand total of all the points available and all points redeemed by the entire pool. You will not be able to view individual credit card transactions for any member of the pool besides yourself.

Rewards Questions

Can I redeem my points for eco-friendly products and services to better support better stewardship of our environment?

Yes, you can redeem your points from a list of reward options curated from businesses committed to supporting our environment and are part of SBTi (Science Based Target Initiative) and / or 1% for the planet.

These rewards can be found within the Rewards drop-down tab and by selecting the Climate Friendly Rewards option.

What is the value of Cash-back Rewards and how do I get my points converted to cash?

Cash back credit Rewards have a face value of 1% for Platinum and Signature Black customer redemptions and a face value of 1.25% for Signature Black Plus redemptions. Credits are applied directly to your RBC Bank Credit card account and are normally applied to your account within 72 hours. The Cash-back credit Reward is based on the number of points available to redeem in your Avion Rewards Account and will follow the posted Avion Rewards Redemption Chart available here. All Points will be immediately deducted from your available Points Balance.

Why do customers with a Signature product have access to different Redemptions options than Platinum customers?

Customers with a Signature Rewards Plus product pay a higher annual fee than Platinum Rewards Plus customers and as a result have access to more robust and valuable redemptions options; including Cash-back at a value of 1.25%. If you are an existing client and you are interested in upgrading to a Signature product please call us at 1-888-257-6837.

If you are a new client to RBC Bank and would like to apply for a new Signature card, please call 1-800 ROYAL 5-3 (1-800-769-2553). RBC Wealth Management customers please call 1-888-243-7397.

Do I have to earn a lot of points to see the benefit of the Avion Rewards program?

No. We have many customers that love to redeem their points right away for rewards. Rewards start at 1,500 points.

When can I redeem my points for a reward?

As soon as the points show up in your account you can use them to redeem rewards. Points will be calculated Tuesday through Saturday, except holidays, and will post two business days after receiving transaction data. Points earned on all other days will post within 72 hours.

How long will it take to earn enough points to redeem for rewards?

This is dependent on the reward that you are interested in. We have a wide variety of rewards including travel options, gift cards, unique experiences, merchandise and more. Rewards begin at 1,500 points. Don't forget, you earn 1.5 points for every net retail dollar you spend with your Visa Plus account; 1 point for every dollar you spend on your Visa Signature or Platinum credit card so your points can accrue quickly the more you use your RBC cards. And, if you combine your accounts with other friends and family members, you'll earn points even faster. Although, it's important to remember that when you "pool" your account with others, your points become available to everyone that is in your pool.

What type of travel rewards do you offer?

Avion Rewards offers the most innovative travel rewards available in any rewards program. We know how much our customers appreciate earning a travel reward that isn't filled with restrictions, capacity controls and other caveats, so Avion Rewards has introduced My Way Rewards. My Way Rewards lets you choose where you want to go, when you want to travel, what travel supplier you want to book with -- and better yet, you can choose any accredited Travel Agency that you would like to use. This can include online travel agencies like: cxLoyalty, Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, Hotels.com and more. You can also book through the airline, hotel or car rental supplier directly. Or, you can work with a traditional travel agency that will serve your needs. You don't have to worry about all the restrictions that many other programs offer. Simply book your airline ticket, hotel stay, car rental, cruise or tour package with your Avion Rewards Credit or debit card just as you would if you were paying for the trip rather than redeeming points. Wait for the transaction to post to your RBC Bank account (normally within 72 hours). Then either go here and click on the link for additional details and to request a "statement credit" for your trip or call a Customer Service Representative at 1-877-521-2035 to request the credit for the transaction. When using the My Way Rewards option, you can redeem points for the entire transaction or a partial amount, but keep in mind you must have enough points in your account at the time you request a statement credit.

Additionally, we offer Traditional Travel rewards that you can access online or by calling a Customer Service Representative. We have an online travel portal that allows you to book your trip in one step, and points will be decremented from your account immediately rather than having to call to request a statement credit.

Can I redeem for Canadian and US dollar gift cards?

If your mailing address is in Canada, you will only be able to redeem for Canadian dollar Gift card, if you have a US mailing address, you can only redeem for a US dollar gift card.

How do I cancel gift cards, merchandise or travel rewards if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, once redeemed for a reward, your gift cards, merchandise or travel rewards cannot be cancelled or exchanged. Because you are actually using your RBC Bank Credit card for travel rewards, any changes will be subject to the restrictions, fees and penalties from the travel supplier.

Are there any restrictions on the gift cards offered through the program?

Any restriction on a specific gift card will be included in the Program Rules. On occasion gift card merchants require an expiration date. This date will be printed on the front of the gift card and cannot be extended beyond the expiration date. The full value of the gift card must be redeemed; retailers do not provide credit or cash back for any unused balance remaining on the gift card/check. Gift cards are not replaceable if lost, stolen, destroyed, or expired. Gift cards may not be resold, are not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration. Gift cards must be surrendered at redemption. Gift cards are not redeemable and considered void if altered, photocopied, or reproduced. Retailers have the right to restrict usage and participation by retailer is subject to change. Due to foreign currency exchange fluctuations, gift cards issued by Canadian retailers may be offered at a different redemption value than gift cards issued by U.S. retailers and redemption values are subject to change without notice. If your mailing address is in Canada, you will only be able to redeem for Canadian dollar Gift card, if you have a US mailing address, you can only redeem for a US dollar gift card.

If I start to redeem for rewards but don't complete the transaction, do I have to start over the next time I log into the Avion Rewards Web site?

No, we have created a "persistent" shopping cart function, so the next time you log in, your cart will contain the same items that you had when you were there last. The convenience will allow you to browse and shop for your rewards without having to complete the transaction all at once.

Can I have my redemption package delivered to my P.O. Box?

Unfortunately we cannot mail rewards to a P. O. Box. Please ensure your correct address is on your profile.

I have just redeemed points for a reward. When can I expect to receive my reward?

In most cases, your gift cards will take up to 5 weeks to be delivered.

Is it possible to place a rush order and get expedited delivery?

Yes, we're pleased to offer customers an opportunity to expedite delivery. The additional fees for this service can be charged to your Avion Rewards Credit card or by redeeming additional Avion points.

We aren't able to return any products that have been damaged, modified or abused for replacement or credit.

Pooling Questions

How do I join a pool?

You must be invited to join a pool by another Avion Rewards cardholder. An electronic invitation will be sent to you by the cardholder providing you with additional information and an option to accept or decline the invitation. If you choose to accept the invitation, you will register one of your Avion Rewards cards to participate. Due to security reasons, you are only able to register one Avion Rewards card per each invitation. However, once you have entered a pool, you can send an invitation to yourself to add another account to the pool.

What do you mean that I can "send an invitation" to myself to join a pool?

Security is a primary concern for RBC Bank. It is with security in mind that we created additional requirements to ensure all accounts that are part of a pool are authorized individually before being combined. This means that you can add as many of your credit cards to a single pool, but you will need to send an invitation, or have another pool member send you an invitation, for each of the personal accounts that you would like to pool. While we understand this requires some additional administrative work on the part of our customers, we hope you will appreciate the added level of security that we have incorporated.

If I join a pool, can I choose who is able to redeem for a reward from the members of the pool?

No, unfortunately if you choose to join a pool it is similar to you having a joint personal credit card or checking account. All points earned from all members of the pool will be combined to form one single pool. All points in the pool can be redeemed by any member of the pool without any notice to other pool members. While joining a pool is an excellent option for many of our customers, you need to be careful that you select members of the pool that you feel completely comfortable having access to the points that you have earned.

Why would I join a pool if I lose control over the points that I earned?

Joining a pool will not be the right choice for all of our customers. However, many customers will love the opportunity to earn rewards even faster. By combining multiple accounts, the pool will have greater opportunity to redeem for higher point level rewards even faster. This would be an excellent option for some families. A group or extended family wanting to take a dream vacation. A community group that wants to purchase larger items for their school, church or neighborhood. An organization that is interested in redeeming to furnish a meeting room or other need. The opportunities are endless.

Since points expire on a first come, first serve basis, how does that work with pooling?

Regardless of whether you are accumulating points individually or as part of a pool, all points are combined into one centralized pool for redemption. The oldest (first points that you earn) points will be the first points that are resigned when you redeem for a reward. In a pool, all points are combined regardless of who earned them. For example, if a member of the pool redeems for a gift card valued at 5,000 points, the allocation of points could potentially come from each member of the pool based on when they were originally earned (all points are date and time stamped automatically).

How will I know if other members of my pool invite other Avion Rewards card clients to join our pool?

If you have registered your e-mail address on the program website, you will receive an e-mail notification if any member of your pool invites another member to join. You may also ask a Customer Service Representative. Although you will not have an opportunity to block inviting this new pool member, you certainly can leave the pool if you are not in agreement with the decision to add a new member to your pool.

Can I transfer points using the Customer Service Call Center agents?

This option is only available online through the Avion Rewards website, however, you may contact our agents for assistance in completing the point transfer online.

Can I transfer points in my pool to another account?

Yes, similar to point redemptions, you have full access to the pool balance and you are able to transfer the points in your pool to another Avion Rewards account at RBC Bank or your own RBC Royal Bank of Canada Avion Rewards account.

The account/pool being debited with points must be with RBC Bank and must be open and in good standing. The recipient account may be any other RBC Bank Avion Rewards account or your own Canadian Avion Rewards account with RBC Royal Bank of Canada. You may not transfer points to a closed account.

When I transfer points to another account will the expiration date on the points be reset or stay the same?

Rewards points transferred to another RBC Bank account will retain their original expiration date. Rewards points transferred to an Canadian Avion Rewards account with RBC Royal Bank of Canada will be guided by the Terms and Conditions of the RBC Royal Bank of Canada Avion Rewards program.
